Amber and Great Grandpa

Amber only has one Great Grandpa (Naomi's Dad's Dad). Great Grandpa Larsen's favorite thing is to be with family, and he especially liked spending time with Amber. He wasn't very good at keeping Amber awake ;-) But Amber loved to fall asleep as Great Grandpa rocked her or walked around with her on his shoulder.

Amber of course stole the show after we finally arrived at the Larsen's after our 18 hour trip ;-) Many of Naomi's relatives got to meet her for the first time! Here is a couple pictures of Amber meeting Naomi's Dad's Parents (Great Grandma and Grandpa Larsen).

Start of Wisconsin Trip

Last week we took a long trip up to Wisconsin to see all of the Larsen family and to go to Nichole Neu's wedding. We went through Uniontown PA on the way out to see one of my companies locations there and stopped at Ohiopyle state park. It was a little bit chilly as you can see by the pictures, but we made sure to wrap Amber up as best as we could. We had neglected to make the hat we brought accessible in the trunk so we improvised with a clean burp cloth :-) Amber was a champ the whole 18 hours it took us to get out there. I guess we can do these kind of trips now while we are young :-) Stay tuned for more pictures from the trip in the next couple days.

Face Shots

It is amazing to watch how many entirely different facial expression Amber can go through in the matter of a couple of minutes. She will look happy, concerned, frustrated, tired, perplexed, and happy all in about 4 seconds.

Argon ST Prototype

My company actually gave us this little outfit for Amber. Guess we have an engineer in training here. Makes me wonder what she will be interested in when she gets older? In any case she makes a great little model baby right now :-)

Amber Looking Cute Again

Caught some good smiles the other day :-) Every day that passes she gets a little more alert and a little more able to react to her environment. She has been liking the mobile that great grandma Sally sent especially recently. There is a green frog on it that she seems to be trying to talk to sometimes too :-) it is very cute.

Babies out in force

Looking back at the pictures i took from Lori & Dustin's wedding i realized i didn't get half of the babies that were there. My theory is that people tend to get get married right after college, 2 years after college, 4 years after college, ect. . I can only speak to the 4 year trend at this point, but it seem like everyone i know has fit into one of those time frames. Maybe it takes 2 years to get to know someone well enough? Not sure. But most of the 0 and 2 year after
college married groups are now having babies :-) I counted 5 at the wedding!

Couple more pictures here from Dustin and Lori's Wedding. As you can tell it was outside and the sun was making everyone squint. Amber had the best seat in the house though in her bucket with the sun shade up :-)

Babies Definitly Spit Up

For all of those of you who wonder - do babies spit up. Well here is your answer ;-) Most of the time they are pretty cute about it, although sometimes it can be a lot worse (not pictured in video).

Amber at Lori's Wedding

Here is amber hanging out at Lori Bowman and Dustin Butlers wedding. I also caught a cute picture of another little girl who Amber might start to look a lot more like in a year or so.

Here is the last of the photo session pictures from the Larsens visit. Amber is kind of passed out at this point as she was robed of 10 mins of her nap time ;-) As you can tell by the picture below she wasn't too happy about this.

Being new parents, all of these changes that happen can be sort of disturbing because what she is suppose to be doing one week (say pooping 3-4 times a day) and the next week it is totally different (pooping once every several days). Amber no longer has daily poops, so Mom and Dad are living in anticipation of the next big event.

More Video With the Larsen

I figured out how to post some of the videos from the Larsen's cameras, but it is quite a process. The cameras that they have take better quality video than our little camera, but it is less compressed. So a min long video will run around 150MB, which means i can't upload it. So i have to load it into movie maker (one of the few tools microsoft gives you free :-) ) and compress it before i can upload it. After compression they are more like 8MB! Yay for the MPEG codec!

Anyway enough technical stuff. Here is another video of the Larsen's visit with Amber.

We made sure Uncle Brian got some face time with Amber as well. As you can tell in the first picture, Amber was pretty much fed up with her photo shoot at this point, and was wanting to take a nap.




Here is Brian looking all domestic ;-) He was very good with Amber and i am sure will make a great dad someday.

Grandpa very much enjoyed his time with Amber as well. The only problem is that we had to keep on him to not let her fall asleep as he was being so gentle and soothing to her that she would fall asleep when it was suppose to be her wake time ;-)

Out Of Commission for a Week

Wow, I am finally getting time to do anything with the pictures and blog again. These past 2 weeks have been a bit of a whirlwind. I had to work most of the last week as the Larsen family was here, then we had a wedding in State College that we went to, and then got utterly swamped at work when i get back, along with softball season starting. Anyway i am relaxing in bed an extra hour or so this morning so i decided to post some more pictures. My plan is to work through the pictures from the Larsen's visit over the next couple days and then put some up of the wedding and state college.
