So Thankful for Mom/G'ma!

Going on another walk. :)  Mom was so helpful to us during her week here.
Then my first "outing"...lunch with Mom at Panera up the road.

Sweet Love and Support

Brent has been so sweet about rubbing my back as I recover! And he even brought my scarf over to me so I would "be more comfortable" as I was blow-drying my hair.
So many flowers, cards, and meals sent to me/us in loving support. "Thank you, All! You are truly a blessing to us."
Clara likes to snuggle and read books next to me while I rest.

Illustrating stories with G'ma, and practicing math puzzles.

Lucas brought out all his vintage Legos!
"King Mountain Fortress" is finally completed! Hurray!

Archery, Bike Riding...Lucas is Staying Busy

Lucas had his hands full the other day making bows and arrows for our kids (and some neighbor kids). They all run around like Robin Hood! :)

And Lucas taught Amber to master "no training wheels" this week too! What an important moment in Amber's life. :)

Going for Walks

Mom's my walking buddy now too...3xs/day around the block! She says I'm getting faster. ;-)

Real Life in Recovery

It's so nice to have Mom here now! She takes great care of me, and then when I'm resting she plays with the kids and coordinates dinners too. :)
Bruising from the operating room. (They did have my head in some type of clamp for the procedure).

Yesterday Lucas drove me back into Arlington to have my staples removed. The removal wasn't really painful at all. It's actually a relief to have them out!...more comfortable for sleeping now.

33 total staples.

Incisions are looking really good!

Sister Nurse Love!

We got to the hospital plenty early Monday morning and hung out in the (chilly) lobby.
Then waiting in the pre-op room.

Just before I woke up in the ICU...Sara was already lovingly monitoring all my care and meds. So nice to have a good nurse as a sister!

First shower and trying to get the O.R. "goop" out of my hair, while minding my 33 staples. The hair is still a work in progress. LOL. ;-D

Sweet Sara!!

Having Sara here for the week of my surgery has been a HUGE blessing and support to me and Lucas! The day before surgery we did get to go to the Nationals baseball game, and then Sara surprised me with this custom-made Chiari t-shirt that night...I just love it and her amazing support of me in this journey!! "Love you, Sar!"
