Texas Longhorns
These cattle are huge! You can see them at Palo Duro canyon, and even a few around Frisco still on undeveloped land. An artist just finished a mural in downtown Frisco and the longhorns are facing the road as you drive by.

Palo Duro Canyon & Cadillac Ranch

For Thanksgiving weekend we went to the "Grand Canyon of Texas." It was beautiful! The weather was great for hiking. And we enjoyed being out of the city for a bit.
In the middle of some farm fields...Cadillac Ranch. Everyone brings spray paint!

“R” Restaurant
For family date nights we are hitting restaurants A-Z. Recently we were on "R" and tried Rockfish Grill. Clara ate tilapia. Amber and Brent had fish sticks. Lucas and I tried fried catfish! It was ok. (But we might still prefer a good WI fish fry). ;-)

Zoo Day
Another family from church invited us to join them at the Dallas Zoo. This meant driving to downtown Dallas, but it was worth it. :)
Amber stayed in the petting zoo as long as she could. ;-)

Beach Day
It's nice to get out of the city and explore a Texas state park (with church friends). We've had a lot of rain, so the beach was actually flooded; but the kids had fun playing anyway.

Rock Climbing
Church friends took us to their rock climbing gym for an afternoon. This was a fun experience for the kids. Amber especially liked it.

Ninja at Nine
Happy Birthday, Brent!
Brent has enjoyed watching the TV show American Ninja Warrior. A Ninja Nation gym recently opened here in Frisco, and so for Brent's birthday he took an introductory class. He really enjoyed it! And he realized how hard some of the obstacles/courses really are. ;-)
He was excited about another expansion to SmashUp. He is turning into quite a gamer! He also recived MineCraft to play on the computer, a book, and money, and lots of nice cards.

Swimming in October
It's been enjoyable to still have a few 80+ degree days when we can go for a quick swim.

Amber Camp - II
In this part of Texas they don't swim in the lakes (re: snakes), and so the camp had this fun pool instead.
Below was an "orienteering" activity.
The whole school group (most of the 4th and 5th grade classes).

Amber Camp - I
The 4th and 5th grade classes at school went to a two day nature camp. Amber had a good time getting to know her 5th grade girlfriends better, and she had a blast being out in nature again.
The rain held off the first day so Amber was able to do her favorite activity. ;-)
Below, they are petting sting rays.

Fall Homeschool Days
The weather has started to cool off here a tad. It's nice to get some fresh, cooler air into the apartment.

Frisco Kids
They are growing fast, like sunflowers!
The library is behind them.
Below, our apartment is in the background.
