Playing the Piano

Amber enjoys sitting down with me at the piano and playing. She likes to hit the notes herself, and then also to listen to me practice and sometimes sing along. We enjoy music together; and usually Lucas/Daddy is our audience.

Old Dishwasher is Gone!

The old dishwasher is gone, taken to the dump. Yay!

Countertop Destruction

Lucas started tearing up some of the counter top this weekend because we wanted to get rid of the old, broken dishwasher and prepare for the new counter top to come. We are so thankful for many of the tools, including this saw, that Great G'pa Larsen handed down to us. Lucas also finished painting the base cabinets white, so they are now ready for their new white doors to be put on hopefully this week.

New Food Mill

Amber enjoyed fresh ground bananas the other morning from her new food mill. G'pa and G'ma Smith gave it to her for Valentine's Day. It comes in pretty handy at home or when we are out and about.

Ticket To Ride

Lucas and I have really been enjoying playing the board game Ticket to Ride. You have to build a train route from city to city across the States. Most of our extended family and friends have played it with us at some point as well. In the below picture Lucas is showing his "sad face" because I, Naomi Anne Smith, FINALLY BEAT HIM fair and square!!! It was a glorious occasion for me this past Sunday. lol.

Uncle Trevor Stopped By

On his way back to Philly, Uncle Trevor stopped by for a visit. He brought Valentines cards and an adorable Valentine bear for little Amber. Amber snuggled up with the bear right away.

Working in the Kitchen

This past weekend two angels came to visit us - Grandpa and Grandma Smith. They came down for Valentine's Weekend to see us, and to provide an opportunity for Lucas and me to go out for dinner. In addition, they helped us patch the kitchen hard wood flooring and bleach our base cabinets. What a blessing!

Amber and Spoons

Some of our friends clued us in on babies' liking to munch on clean (plastic) spoons. Sure enough. It's one of Amber's favorite things! Give her a spoon and she's happy as a clam.

Piano Delivered

This morning my piano was delivered to our home. The movers made it look so easy; took them 10 minutes total. Now I've been playing piano all afternoon and Amber has been "singing" along - so wonderful! Thank you, Great G'pa and G'ma Larsen!!

Baby Legs

Though Amber might resent my posting these pictures in years to come, I could not resist the cuteness of those baby legs! Gotta love 'em!

Amber has rolled over several times in the recent weeks, and I finally caught it on camera the other day. She is getting to be really strong and mobile.

Kisses and Frogs

In the picture, Amber is enjoying playing with her singing frog friend. Then recently we caught Amber on video giving "kisses." It's pretty adorable, especially when you're on the receiving end of her kisses. smiles.

That Time of Year Again

Oh yes, it's "tax time" again. Lucas is already hard at work, in the early morning, filling out all the forms and such. He takes such good care of Amber and me!

Sitting Independently

This past Monday morning Amber showed me that she is slowly mastering the new skill of sitting independently. I/we are so proud of her progress! As you will see in the video, she hasn't perfected the skill yet, but...we'll keep working on it.
