Amber's Baptism!

Last Sunday Amber was baptized by Daddy and Pastor Vic. (Video to come). She was very excited about this!

Talking through the plan. :)

Vacation Bible School

Last week Amber and Brent attended VBS for the first time. They truly loved it!...all the songs, crafts, Bible lessons, and even dress-up night. :) The theme was "Camp Kilimanjaro." (Amber was a little embarrassed that I had her stand up in front of all her friends for this picture).  So many folks from our church worked hard for months to prepare for this VBS. We are thankful!

The Bathroom is Done!!

The Blue "X" of construction finally got to come down to reveal...!!

We are extremely thankful to God for this new bathroom and for the lessons we learned along the "renovation way." :)

Pool Snorkeling

Amber has been asking to learn to snorkel, so we dug out all our old Hawaii gear. She was a fast learner! And she even learned to equalize her ears in the deep end.
Brent did his practice in the shallows. His mask was a little large for his face so he had to stop and clear the mask (and snorkel) periodically, but he still really liked it.

Clara preparing to do her "twisty jumps."

But of course Clara didn't want to be left out of the snorkel fun, so...  She did it too!
These kiddos never cease to amaze us! And they are all asking to move back to Hawaii now. lol.

Science Experiment Library Program

I thought this program was going to be the kids doing hands-on experiments. But there were over 100 kids and parents there! Myself and many other moms were surprised to find it was more of an experiment "show." But this scientist was very energetic and engaged well with the kids.
A blessing...both Amber and Brent were picked to come up as helpers. Brent to help with a vinegar and baking soda experiment, and Amber to taste the gas/bubbles from dry ice.
This was the presenter's "milk shake" which the kids could come and touch at the end - hard foam.

Clara

The A/C on our van went out a couple weeks ago, so...windows it is! The kids get pretty hot in the back :( but Clara loves to stick her fingers out the window and feel the breeze.
Then this past week she and I went on a "Mommy-Daughter Date" to a local splash pad (while A and B were at church for VBS).
She was spiking the water. (My future volleyball player!)

Amber's Birthday

Amber had a special little "7 Year Old" party with her one friend from church. They squeezed a lot of fun into one afternoon: pool, pizza, painting (Tic-Tac-Toe board game), presents, play, and Lego cupcakes!

A Hot Summer Day

When I bought this play house I didn't envision this rooftop play. We made the rule one person at a time up there, but...I had to take a pic of all 3 of them first. :)

History Timeline

In preparation for the school year and our coming homeschool coop, the kids and I are familiarizing ourselves with the timeline. Here Amber is learning the major events from the "creation of the world" up to "John The Baptist." It sure helps that we learn this timeline to a song. So now, if you walk up to or pass our minivan you will hear us hip-hopping to "Mesopotamia and Sumer, Egyptians, Incus River Valley Civilization, Minoans and Mycenaeans, 7 Wonders of the Ancient World...!" :)

Library Events

This summer I am trying to take advantage of the free library programs in our county. The kids did not really like the singing event above; but the Lego and Duplo building events were a big hit.

PA Weekend - Part 2

Amber loves to make French toast and sweep!
Clara was willing to go for a tractor ride this time! She said, "Cuz I'm not little this time, Mommy."  LOL...it was only 3 weeks ago that she didn't want to get in and ride.

Homemade giant bubble kit!
