Brent wanted nothing to do with the special (non-dairy, non-egg) birthday cake I made. Oh well. No need to force it. Maybe next year he'll be interested. But he was really happy to wear some of the new Aloha outfits Auntie Joanie bought for him. ...Little Charmer. :-)

Grandma GG pushed Brent in the stroller while the rest of us swam in the lagoon. He was a happy camper - I think G'ma was too. :-)
Great Grandma Larsen and Great Auntie Joanie arrived this past Wednesday to visit us. We have been having great fun together. Amber and Brent are loving all the book time with them, and we also had fun riding the Dole Plantation train again. :-)
So as promised here are some pictures of North Shore Waves that I found online. Usually the waves aren't quite this big, but they are usually quite intense. Needless to say, these can kill you really fast regardless of whether you know what you are doing or not. I hope to get some of my own pictures this Winter :-)
We saw some fun waves breaking on the North Shore near Turtle bay. I am very interested to come back in the winter and see the huge waves. For those who haven't seen them I will round up a couple pictures of what the waves can look like at the north shore.
From Makapuu point you can actually see one of the other Hawaiian Islands. Here is our first gimps of Molokai. Molokaians have done a very good job preventing tourism of their island and it is actually very difficult to get to the island. For comparison, Molokai is a about half the size of Oahu, but while Oahu has 900,000 residents (not counting thousands of tourists at any given time), Molokai has only 7000 residents. I also found it interesting that they have no traffic lights on the entire island and have regulations preventing any buildings on the island from being taller then a palm tree.
One of the highlights of Makapuu point is the lighthouse. This is apparently a prime spot to
watch the migrating whales as they pass by Oahu in the winter months on their way to Alaska.
We recently hiked Makapuu Point on the south east corner of the island with some friends from our neighborhood.
