Birthday Fun

Our "baby" is turning 7! She has grown so much this year. She's now a reader, and she is almost as tall as Brent. It was a joy to celebrate her birthday as a family.

We did a special outing to a nearby trampoline gym. The kids and Lucas had lots of fun jumping and playing dodgeball, etc. I  was thankful there were no injuries. :)

Helping a Snail

This snail was in the Zen Garden at our apartment. Brent didn't want it to dry out in the sun, so he gently moved it over to the big flower pot.

Finishing Private School...Back to Homeschool

The kids closed out their special Grace Covenant school year with a big musical called Faith News Network. They practiced all spring semester, and in the end you could tell!
A, B, and C all sang in the choir.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This spring we have been transitioning into homeschool activities as well, in an effort to meet the kids in our new Classical Conversations co-op for the fall. Brent loved that one activity was 2 hours at Ninja Nation!

Amber and I went on a tour of a (posh) Frisco veterinary hospital. The dogs who get boarded there each have a sound-proof room with flat screen tvs! Below, the Vet is showing x-rays and explaining about a dog who had broken legs.

And then we had a big homeschool Field Day with several co-ops in North Texas. Clara and Brent each won 3rd place in their 40yd dash running groups. And Brent also won a raffle prize - $25 at CA Pizza Kitchen.
The kids are starting to make a couple homeschool friends, which is a blessing for this mama to see! It's hard to put them through another transition with school/friends, but we feel that homeschooling is the best path forward for our family. So we hope to be part of this co-op for a while.

The kids were pretty tired after hours of running in the Texas sun.

Frisco Cattle

There are still a few large farms in Frisco. These cattle have hundreds of acres to grass on, but one afternoon they were all crowded right at the corner of very busy intersection in Frisco. Kinda funny. Only in Texas I guess!

Another Animal Day

One day I was driving around Frisco and "happened" to drive past a Horse Rescue Farm. The kids, especially the girls, were very thankful for an opportunity to be around farm animals again.  Unfortunately, you have to be 16yrs old to volunteer at this farm, but...we can visit every month just for fun.

Easter Weekend

Bluebonnet season in Texas.

Church friends invited some families over for Easter lunch, an egg hunt, and a ping-pong tournament.

During the past couple weeks, the kids have been asking about roller blades and skate boards - wish list items for their next birthdays. Well, I "happened" upon two sets of (adjustable) roller blades and a skate board at the thrift store. What a blessing to find them! So I gave them as surprise Easter gifts. Kids were so excited! Next up...knee and elbow pads. ;-D
