Clemyjontri Park

Amber and I (Lucas) went out to Clemyjontri Park to see if it lived up to the hype. Amber thinks it did, and I would be inclined to agree if it wasn't so far away and wasn't quite so popular (parking was a bit of a disaster). If you were wondering about the funky name, here is a
quote from the park website (http://www.fairfaxcounty.gov/PARKS/CLEMYJONTRI/)

"The name CLEMYJONTRI is derived from the donor's four children: Carolyn (CL), Emily (EMY), John (Jon), and Petrina (Tri)."

Amber had a blast, although you can tell she wasn't so keen on sharing the driving responsibilities :-)

Amber and Brent

A Day of Thanksgiving!

Dear Friends, thank you so much for all your prayers and support toward our family lately. Brent had his Pulmonary appointment early this morning and "passed." He no longer needs to be on the apnea/heart monitor! This is so wonderful! Also, he measured in at 22.25inches and 9lbs. 5oz. (He was born, 4 weeks ago, at 20.75inches and 7lbs. 1oz.) Go Brent!!!

In the Cupboard

Amber has one cupboard that is hers to play in, or camp out in (as on this particular day).

Special Gift

Everyone has been super generious with their time and gifts to us
(both for Brent and Amber). This is one gift that Amber got from
Grandpa Smith who didn't want her to feel left out with the new baby
arriving.

Prayer Request About Monitor

We finally got an appointment approved for a pediatric pulmonologist through our insurance. It has been a bit of a annoying situation as we are suppose to get Brent checked out and get approval to remove him from the monitor. However there are only 2 doctors in a 50 mile radius from us and the only one covered by our insurance couldn't get us in till February. We were blessed to have our insurance approve a visit to the other doctor, and so we now have an appointment for Friday morning. Our prayer request is that everything looks good and they approve Brent coming off the monitor. It would certainly make things a good bit easier around here without that. Thanks.

Cheerleader?

Amber would need to work on her cheer a little more to make the squad, but at least we know she looks cute in the outfit :-)

The Perils of Having a Sister

Brent is discovering the perils of having a sister as pink is showing up much more in his clothing and accessories then if he had been the first born ;-) Here he is after a bath.

Brothers

While Trevor and Owen were visiting for their short visit i managed to get a couple shots of both of them in some dramatic lighting. Can you tell i was having fun with pictures that day ;-)

Hanging In Bed

Naomi's Mom was a huge help to us with transitioning to Brent being home with us. We kind of feel like we have three kids right now - Amber, Brent, and the annoying monitor. So the extra hands have been invaluable.

Amber was posing for me in some fun light in our living room. I was having a hard time getting her to smile for me as she was trying to figure out what i was doing with the big black box (my camera).

Owen Back From Equador

My (Lucas) brother Owen just got back from Ecuador and stopped by for an hour or so before heading up to watch the PSU football game. They just missed Brent.

Hanging In His New Home

I haven't had a chance to take many pictures of Brent yet as it has been a little crazy around here, but here is one of him hanging out in his crib. Notice the wires for the monitor that we have to have him on. The thing is a mixed bag as you feel like you can sleep without any worry about him, but it is rather finicky and has gone off about 10 times already becuase he moved to much or we didn't put the leads on right, etc. .

Amber and Grandma

Amber has been having a lot of fun going for walks and keeping Grandma running after her. WE have been so grateful to have Naomi's mother here to help look after her while we were running back and forth to the hospital.

More Imitation

Continuing on the imitation theme, Amber was having a lot of fun putting on dad's jacket.

Brent Is Glad To Be Out

Here are a couple pictures of Brent (and the monitor he was on in the NICU) getting ready to leave the Hopsital. He was glad to get out and get home to Mom and Dad. I am sure he didn't miss some of his noisy neighbors either.
