Indoor Activities and Family Time
My friend Tiffany gave me a great bag of indoor, winter, family-fun games. This was the marshmallow cup race: use the straw to get as many 'mallows in your cup during 1 minute.
Brent got a few in!
This was the Q-tip shooter game...Amber got pretty good at this one.
Clara likes to play along at her leisure and just be around all of us.

Play-Dough and Campers

Reading Continued
Amber is gaining more confidence with reading as we work through our new phonics homeschooling book. She is enjoying reading to Brent and Clara more and more. [And that's a blessing for mom too!] ;-)

Leggo Table
So between snowfalls this past week/weekend, Lucas ran out to get a Craigslist find for the kids...a Leggo table. They love it! A great place to work on their creations. ;-) A nice Valentine's gift from Daddy.

Snowy Weekend - 14 inches!
We got quite the snow storm this weekend. About a foot of snow and then freezing rain on top of that. Heavy shoveling! Then we got another inch or two of snow the following day. The kids have enjoyed the winter play land. ;-) And Lucas got to stay home from work for 2 days with us.
Hot Cocoa to warm us up. (Yes, even in a sippie cup. Clara LOVED it!)

Daddy Returned
Daddy returned the next evening. Amber showed off her earrings to him. And Brent took us all on a camping excursion in the house. Note the horse with the headband-antlers is actually our dead deer that Brent shot and now we are going to eat it at the campsite. ;-)

Amber's Ears Pierced!
We called Lucas on travel because Amber suddenly REALLY WANTED to get her ears pierced. We had had a little friend (3 yrs old) come and play the day before, and this girl had recently gotten her ears pierced. Amber was feeling brave after hearing this younger girl's story, and probably a little jealous. lol. Daddy gave his approval. A friend/former coworker met me at the mall to watch Brent and Clara in the play area while I took Amber up to "Claire's" for the piercing. Amber did GREAT! She cried a bit after each ear, but then literally skipped out of the store after looking in the mirror and seeing her new pink bling. [The daily cleaning of the ears is a little less fun, but we're doing well with it so far].
