Hard to believe we only have 2 weeks left to use our community pool. Here we were last week having a play date with some friends. ;)

 Amber and Brent and I were all laughing at Clara when she was walking around the basement like this. Too funny. But she really does like balls.

The National Zoo

We opted for the all-day excursion to the zoo by driving to our friend's house in Falls Church and then Metroing into the city, and then walking up to the zoo grounds. It was the first time for the kids to ride the Metro. They were SO excited, and they put lots of smiles on people's faces along the way with all their squeals of delight. :-)

 

 

This was Brent's favorite animal of the day. We got to see the elephant up close while he was eating.

 

We met our friends at the zoo. Clara enjoyed wearing "Auntie" Tiffany's sunglasses for a bit. But then she ended up breaking them. Ops.

 

Amber really liked the little misting sprinklers. By the end of the day, running through several of these throughout the zoo, she was pretty soaked... but cool!

Some of the big cats we saw. We got to hear the lion roar - cool!

Even though it was 90+ degrees outside and like 90% humidity, I wore Clara in the baby carrier for a bit in an effort to get her to nap...didn't work. Just too hot. She passed out later in the stroller anyway when we got to McDonald's. ;-)

Daddy splurged and let the kids ride the carousel just before we left. A fun day of memories!
