While Naomi Was Gone

While Naomi was gone, my parents came down for the weekend.  They were sad to miss Naomi and Clara but had fun with Amber and Brent. 

 

 

 

Heading Back to VA

It was a quick trip to WI, and unfortunaly MANY family members got a stomach virus the days after the funeral [the same virus Renee and us Smiths had the week before in VA], but... it was still good to be together. The above picture was taken just before Mom, Dad, and Brian all got sick. Below are some pics after Mom was mostly recovered and on the day Clara and I had to fly back home.

 

Visiting Michelle

I was able to sqeeze in a quick visit to my best friend Michelle and her parents. It was great to see them again. Clara had fun toddling around their house while we chatted.

Meeting G'ma Sally

After Jacob's funeral there was a sweet time of family gathering at one of my aunt and uncle's house. I brought Clara to this occassion and she got to meet her Great-G'ma Sally! She also got to meet lots of other extended family there too. And so fun to have another 4-generation picture! 

 

 

 

 

Visiting WI; Honoring Jacob

 

 

While Auntie Renee was out visiting us in VA, our beloved cousin Jacob passed away. We were close with him and his family. He lived an amazing life of 24 years and impacted so many people with his joy and his faith in Jesus Christ. It was such a blessing for Renee and Clara and myself to be able to fly (together) back home to WI for Jacob's funeral. It was wonderful to be with family during this time of loss. There were so many tears that weekend as we all miss Jacob very much, but we were also rejoicing that he is now in heaven with the Lord. "We love you, Jake and we can't wait to see you again someday!" Here is a picture of Jacob and his sister Erika when they visited us in VA back in October 2009 (just a couple weeks before Brent was born).



Being back home for the weekend, Clara was able to meet Great-G'pa & G'ma Larsen, and Great Aunt Joanie and Great Uncle Dennis. (They watched Clara for us during the funeral).

 

I was also SO happy to finally meet my new sister-in-law Julie! She is such a great addition to our family!

Friends (from Hawaii) Stop By

When we lived in Ewa Beach God blessed us with some great friends down the street. They then moved to PA and later we moved back to VA. But last week they took a road trip from PA to DC and stopped by to visit us. So great to be reunited and watch our (now 6 total) kids play together! Our first 2 kids are exactly the same ages, and then Clara is 4 months younger than their baby Grace.

 

 

More with Auntie Renee

Auntie Renee took Amber and Brent out in the snow. They had a great time building a snowman together. :)

Somewhere Out There

We are all just recovering from the nasty stomach bug that has been going around DC and Naomi has been in WI for a funeral for her cousin so we havn't been on the computer much recently.  We will do more updates on everything soon, but here are a couple more cute pictures of Clara for now :-) 

 

 

 

Family Date Night: Home Depot & Wegmans pizza

 

 

Park/Farm Play Date

Some of the ladies from church organized a play date at Frying Pan Farm (park). It was nice day for February on the mainland - 55 degrees! The kids had fun seeing the cows, pigs, turkeys, etc.

Brent is mooing like a cow here. ;-)

 

 

 

I had Clara in the baby carrier until the end when I let her walk around the playground.
