New Road

They recently repaved our road out front. Provided lots for the kids to watch during the day.

Stroll Along the Lake

There is a 4.6 mile trail that loops around the lake. [Lucas and I used to run here a lot back in the day]. After golf and lunch we all just walked along a mile of it.

 

 

 

Frisbee Golf

One afternoon we hired a couple babysitters for A, B, and C so that us adults could get out together. We went down to Burke Lake Park and did Frisbee Golf. This was a new activity for many in the group. It turned out to be the PERFECT day - weather, golf, and fellowship together.

 

Lucas is showing us how it's done. :) He, being the most experienced frisbee golfer in the group, beat us all quite soundly. We all had fun though, regardless of the final scores.

 After 18 holes/baskets/buckets [what are they called again?] and a nice picnic lunch...group picture. All smiles!

The adult girls went for an afternoon of pedicures and coffee, while the guys stayed home with the resting children and talked about finances/taxes. ;-)

 

 

Amber and Brent's gifts

Amber and Brent received some gifts from Uncle Brian and Auntie Julie (since we won't be with them on A or B's birthdays). A nice paint set, which Amber loved and painted pictures for each guest; and reusable animal stickers which go on the animals' habitat background pages - Brent LOVED it too!

Clara's Birthday Party

Last week, just a couple days after Clara's actual birthday, all the Larsen siblings and Larsen sister-in-law Julie came out to VA for a visit. It was a GREAT time all together! Such a special occassion, for many reasons: celebrating Clara's first birthday; Lucas, Amber and Brent meeting Julie for the first time; the first time all of us, now-6, siblings are together; Brian and Julie are expecting a little baby boy in August... So much to celebrate and be thankful for - family!! Amidst all the celebration it appears Uncle Brian had a little trouble with his party hat. LOL. Guess that's the quality of hats you can expect from the Dollar Store. ;-)

 

Big brother Brent helped Clara blow out her candle. Auntie Renee frosted and decorated the cake.

 

Clara didn't care for eating the sweet cake and frosting too much, but she did enjoy playing with it and making a good mess. [Thank you, Lucas for cleaning it all up afterward].  

 

Opening presents from family and friends. Clara got some books, several Little People toys, balls to play with and bite on, etc.  Thank you, all for making Clara's birthday extra special!

Airport Visitors

 

 Our friend (and Naomi's former roommate) Jana flew through Dulles the other week, so she stopped in for a visit. SO nice to see her again and for her to meet Clara. Clara really liked her a lot! Then Uncle Owen stopped by our place (as he was down at Dulles too) a few days later. We are always happy to have him!
