A Fun Day Out of the City

For Father's Day we went strawberry picking, had a family picnic, got ice cream at a local soft serve place, and went for a hike in a local park. It was a really picture perfect day OUT of the city! :-)

Auntie Sara Visits for 22 Hours

It was nothing short of miraculous that Sara got a medical flight to the States this past weekend and landed in DC for a night. She got to come to our house, spend the night, see Amber, go to Target, etc. within 22 hours! It was SO WONDERFUL to see her and have her in our home! And Amber enjoyed the attention, along with the early b-day gifts (big Dora ball and a xylophone) that Auntie Sara bought for her. :-)

Continued Attic Work

Lucas is faithfully working, on week nights, to finish installing the beams, insulation, and then flooring up in the attic. It's really coming along. I think he's starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel. :-) In the above picture he's not practicing karate, but rather he's cutting the insulation to the right size to be fitted beneath the floor boards.

Our Girl

Amber just woke up in this picture. In the video she just figured out how to do the "froggie crawl" as we've called it. Not a very efficient method, but she does get around now.

Nature Girl

Amber enjoys being outside this summer: hikes with Daddy, walks in the stroller with Mommy, going to the pool, swinging at the park, eating grass/leaves,... Lots of fun! We're even getting ready to go berry picking this weekend, a first for Amber AND Mommy!

Sleeping Cutie

This is often how we find our little Amber these days. She loves to roll around and explore her crib, resulting in this kind of sleeping arrangement. Obviously she doesn't seem to mind too much.

The Irish Babe

Auntie Sara sent this t-shirt to Amber from Ireland last year. I put it on Amber for the first time the other day and it barely fit! This girl is growing like a weed!

Amber figured out how to make lots of noise in this video. Gotta love those metal closet doors from the '80s. :-)
