Kids' Pets

The kids have a couple new pets :-)  They are feeding their woolly bear caterpillars clover ever day and pretty soon they will hibernate in a Tupperware in our fridge till spring.  Hopefully then they will make cocoons and turn into Tiger Moths.  

Dinosaur/Dragon

This little cape was a birthday present from some friends at church. It's just perfect for Brent! I think it's supposed to be a dragon, but he calls it a dinosaur cape. And if you turn the cape inside-out to the silver side, then he is a Knight. Too fun!

This is supposed to be a scare crow. lol...it was my idea. ;-) Amber made it turn out pretty well though.

Birthday Presents

The day we had our new HVAC installed, Brent woke up to his birthday presents. Lots of wonderful presents sent from family! Brent is one blessed little boy. :) Every time the HVAC guys came in or out, Brent would say to them, "See what ELSE I got for my birthday?!!!"

Brent's 4th Birthday

So Brent was supposed to have a little dinosaur birthday party last  week, but...we all got sick the day of his party. We had to cancel. But this was his cake that we collaborated on and decorated. :)
We are hoping to reschedule with our friends for a party later this week. I will have to make  another dinosaur cake [as this one didn't last, and he's requesting a T-Rex one this time]. Nonetheless, he is  very excited to turn 4, and even more excited about the "dinosaur" theme. :) " Happy Birthday, Brent!!!"

Enjoying Fall

The neighbor boy from just down the row is a great playmate. He is the same age as Amber. 

The fall weather has been ideal this week! It's so great to be outside and watch the kids play. Amber is learning to be an archer (and keep all the younger/smaller kids in line). ;-D

Brent is starting to learn computer skills/games too now. He loves to create jungles, or in this case an ocean "jungle."  ;-)

Now we have 3 chairs at the basement coloring table. Clara LOVES to color just like her older siblings. :)

Returning Home

We broke up the drive from IA to VA by staying in a hotel midway. It was much-needed. Yay for a pool too!

 

Driving through the mountains back toward home. It was a good trip; we are thankful for the time with family and for all the safety on the road. And now "welcome, fall colors!"

Erika's Wedding - Iowa

Our final stop on this Midwest trip...Iowa. My cousin was married on her now-husband's family farm. It was really special to be able to attend and celebrate with her and her family. She was a beautiful bride!

Ma-mum was SO prepared and brought "Win By the Nose" to play with the kids while we waited for food. (Amber was upset here because Clara kept taking her piece off the board. lol.)
