These plates were fun for the the kids to decorate on (another) cold, winter day. It was a kit from G'ma and G'pa Smith. They used markers, and then we baked the designs onto the plates.

Bracelets!
We are a few years behind the trend on this one, but that's really ok. It's great to see Amber enjoying being creative! We got a Rainbow bracelet loom and bands from some friends, so Amber and I found a design on YouTube...now we all have "girl power" bracelets, as Clara calls them. LOL.

Sledding
The kids had fun on our tiny, bunny hill out back. And this year everyone could climb the hill by themselves and go down by themselves...it was more enjoyable for all, and easier on me compared to last year. Amber especially was really sweet about giving Clara rides. Hurrah for growing independence and winter fun!

"Lego Luke" on the left! I can see Brent in him. ;-)
Little Uncle Owen is in the middle, and then the neighbor boy Rusty is on the right.

Party Games Too
We have to keep some balance in the family gaming department, pun intended. ;-) So we got Twister for some coordination practice, fun and laughs!

A Taekwondo Birthday Party
The kids' friend Davis had his party at a dojang where all the kids were able to participate in a one and a half hour class. By the end of the practice time, each kid got to break a board with their hand. Even Clara! My kids thought this was the best birthday party ever.
Two medals were given out. One to Davis, the birthday boy; and one medal to Brent for "most improved student." ;-D

Homeschooling Days with Friends
In recent weeks we have had opportunities to do a few hours of homeschooling alongside some family friends of ours. This has been encouraging to the kids and parents alike!
Math and writing worksheets with some new friends: Evie and Davis.
History lessons and science experiments with the Simons here.

Creative Kids
Amber came up with this idea of turning old gift bags into car costumes. Pretty cute!
Brent is enjoying coming up with his own Lego designs now. Very symmetrical!

Learning the States
Amber and Brent have been learning the names of the 50 States to a song we found on YouTube. It's stuck in our heads! Even Clara sings the at breakfast..."Washington, Oregon, California,..." ;-) Then last weekend Amber took out this 200 piece puzzle, a Christmas gift from Uncle Brian and Aunt Julie, and had fun doing the puzzle while singing the song...over and over and over. lol.

Clara Sleeping Like Rapunzel
Clara's favorite blanket is actually a Hawaiian sarong, which I think is so fun and appropriate considering her birthplace. But the hilarious this is how she has been sleeping with it at every nap and nighttime for the past couple months. One end of the sarong goes over her hair and the other end must drape off the edge of her bed and onto the floor, like long "Rapunzel hair" she says. It's so adorable to me! In this picture she has her Elsa doll, but most days she actually sleeps with her Rapunzel doll and of course the Rapunzel doll has to have her hair draping off the bed edge too.
I love this precious age/stage!
