Sleeping Through The Night

Brent has officially started sleeping through the night!!! Yay, such a blessing for all of us (especially Naomi). Mommy is so much happier when she gets ~8 hours of contiguous sleep. The doctors told us that the is a very good sign that the reflux isn't bothering Brent too much.

We have made some good use of the wrap that Sara sent us from Germany. Brent definitely likes being held more then Amber did when she was that little, but Amber is asking to be held more these days (maybe she sees how much Brent likes it :-) ).

Blizzard of 09

So after 7 hours of shoveling out our cars and helping neighbors with theirs I finally got a chance to take some pictures of the aftermath of the Blizzard of 09. The storm dumped between 1-2 feet of snow on the whole DC area in just over a day. I didn't measure our neighborhood, but i am estimating at 18 inches with drifts over 2 feet. Needless to say for some people (in what should be uninhabitable frozen tundra) this isn't that big of a deal, but for DC it shut everything down for 2 days at least. On the plus side we got to stay at home and work down our pantry, and also got to meet some neighbors that are almost never home.

Amber had fun in our first snow. She didn't exactly know what to make of it at first, but she decided it was safe after a couple minutes.

Kirby

We hadn't got a chance to post on this yet, but Amber got a special stuffed animal gift from our friends the Carnahans who have a dog that Amber loves. So we named her new stuffed dog the same : Kirby. She goes everywhere with him and will even push him in our baby swing.

Little Helper

Clear boundaries and consequences help Amber feel very secure and safe, and having responsibilities helps her know she is significant. Taking water to Mom when she needs it is one of the tasks we have given her recently (along with throwing things in the hamper and trashcan).

Grandma and Grandpa Larsen and Aunt Renee were able to come back out for thanksgiving and got to spend some more time with little Brent. He continues to grow well, but has been having some issues with reflux that make him pretty miserable at times :-( Here he is in one of the
better moments.
