AWANA Olympics

Amber is in the 3rd-6th grade TNT Bible group at church. They learn specific games around the AWANA circle during the year, and then...get to compete in March against other churches in the state. 12 total teams. 

Brent sat by his friend and they talked "Legos" the whole time! Well, we did hear them cheer for Amber's team once. ;-)

Retreat Weekends

Every February Lucas' company sponsors a family weekend up in Door County, WI, (which we found out is called, by the locals, the other "D.C."!) Lots of activities at the resort for kids and even some for the adults too. Above, carriage rides with hot chocolate. Below, a martial arts demo and class. They also had scavenger hunts, board game nights, pottery painting, swimming, etc. And Amber and I were able to meet a little deaf girl there too, so Amber got to use her signing knowledge to communicate directly. Pretty special weekend!

In March Naomi went on a women's retreat with ladies from church. Above, "the roomies." Below, all the AWANA TnT leaders who attended the retreat as well. Altogether there were about 150 women on this church retreat. The theme was "Lord of the Dance," meaning that when we truly let Christ lead in the dance of life and growth...it's a beautiful thing. 

Flashback! Hawaii House

Renee and Craig went to Hawaii for their one year anniversary. They drove by our old house (now painted blue) and took this picture for us. Such memories there!!

The Age of Babysitting

Last week we watched the neighbor boy. Amber is starting to learn the beginnings of babysitting skills. She is a first-born, responsible girl. We are proud of her.

Visiting G'ma Sally

The kids and I had a nice visit with Gma to Gma Sally's recently. Amber was reading her journal to Gma Sally.

Next month Gma Sally will be moving to a new home.
